About The Position

Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation has openings for part-time Assistant Afterschool Directors in the Youth and Family Services Elementary and Middle School Afterschool programs. This position is hourly for 25-29 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in education, social work, youth development, or related field preferred
  • Two to three years’ experience working with Elementary/Middle school students and adolescents in a youth development setting.
  • Experience in supervising a team of staff preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the program director to support the supervision of holistic, engaging, and quality afterschool and summer camp programming, incorporating Literacy, Arts, STEM, Fitness, and Community Service/Leadership Development.
  • Assist the program director with the supervision of all program staff.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a cohesive and effective staff team.
  • Assess and address the individual and collective needs of students & parents, solicit and respond to their input into the program, and work with the program director to conduct a monthly parent meeting and/or Family Night.
  • Collect and maintain all required documents and manage multiple databases.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures in a proactive manner, prioritizing the safety of participants.
  • Assist with the monitoring of health and safety standards and regulations.
  • Work with the program director to create an environment of high expectations for staff participation and effort through weekly staff meetings.
  • Build positive relationships with school administration, teachers, and support service personnel.
  • Collaborate with the Youth and Family Services management team and directors.
  • Be aware of, and support the program in meeting all contractual obligations, including the management of the SACC license and contract budgets.
  • Develop positive and effective working relationships with funder representatives.
  • Represent the agency professionally to all stakeholders.
  • Other assignments, as requested.
