About The Position
The Eligibility Specialist strengthens Michigan families by ensuring that each person or family applying for public assistance receives the type and level of assistance for which they are eligible. The role assesses applicants’ needs, provides relevant information, and makes referrals or contacts with people and agencies that can help meet those needs. The worker also informs families about the expectations and goals of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), and encourages and guides them in efforts to become self-supporting. The physical location is Antrim County. Depending on operational needs and within established limits, requests for remote work or an alternate or hybrid work schedule may be considered. Approved remote or hybrid work must be performed within Michigan. Candidates should confirm the work location and schedule during the interview. The posting is recruiting for both limited-term and permanent positions; a limited-term position may become permanent, but conversion is not guaranteed.
Responsibilities
