About The Position

Blue Rose Consulting Group is seeking an Assignment Ready Counselor (ARC) to provide temporary Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) coverage for service members and adult military family members at Camp Atterbury, Indiana. This is an on-call, as-needed opportunity, not a regularly scheduled full-time assignment. ARCs may be offered coverage when program needs arise, after completing required credentialing, screening, background investigation, federal and installation suitability and access processes, and assignment-specific prerequisites. Assignments may last from short coverage periods to longer temporary needs; availability is confirmed before each assignment. Placement in the ARC pool does not guarantee assignments, minimum hours, or a regular schedule. Coverage is subject to installation operating schedules and authorized program requirements. The counselor provides brief, solution-focused, non-medical counseling and consultation within the MFLC program scope, along with approved educational briefings, outreach, and resilience-building presentations. Concerns requiring clinical treatment or specialized services are referred through approved channels. The role also involves coordination with installation Points of Contact, program leadership, and other authorized stakeholders, while maintaining confidentiality, professional boundaries, and required documentation in accordance with DoD and contract requirements. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to meet all applicable training, suitability, credentialing, background, and installation-access requirements.

  • Master's or doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.
  • Active, unrestricted, independent clinical license in a U.S. state or territory; examples include LCSW, LICSW, LPC, LCPC, LMHC, LMFT, or licensed psychologist. Associate-level or supervised licenses do not qualify.
  • Ability to provide brief, solution-focused, non-medical counseling and work independently in a military installation environment.
  • Strong communication and professional judgment.
  • Understanding of military culture and family dynamics.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background investigations, suitability screening, credential verification, training, and installation access requirements.

  • Support service members and adult family members with deployment and reintegration, relationships, parenting, stress, grief, and military-life transitions.
  • Provide individual, couple, and family consultations within the non-medical MFLC scope.
  • Provide short-term, solution-focused, non-medical counseling and consultation within the MFLC program scope.
  • Refer concerns requiring clinical treatment or specialized services through approved channels.

  • Deliver approved educational briefings, outreach, and resilience-building presentations as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, and required program documentation in accordance with DoD and contract requirements.
  • Follow installation procedures, assigned schedules, and applicable program policies during each coverage assignment.
