About The Position

As an Asset Protection Officer at Macy’s, you help create a safe, secure, and service-focused shopping environment. You provide a visible, welcoming presence at store entrances, high-traffic areas, and high-shortage locations; help deter theft and identify potential risks; support customer and colleague safety; and partner with store teams to deliver a positive experience. This entry-level role combines customer service with asset protection, including responding professionally to incidents and helping reduce store shortages. The position involves greeting customers, assisting with apprehensions under the direction of Asset Protection leaders, documenting incidents and audits, completing assigned operational audits and Asset Protection tasks, and following company policies and legal standards. You may respond to medical situations, facilitate basic first aid, and provide testimony in legal proceedings as needed. The role requires flexible availability for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week, though hours depend on business needs and colleague availability.

For jobs in New York, a current New York State Security Guard License is required.

Responsibilities

Respond to medical situations and help facilitate basic first aid for customers and colleagues.
Provide testimony in criminal or civil legal proceedings, as needed.
Use technology and two-way communication devices to stay connected and support timely responses.
