About The Position

As an Asset Protection Detective at Macy’s, you will help protect company assets, reduce shortage, and support a safe, customer-focused shopping environment. Responsibilities

• Use surveillance techniques, investigative tools, and reporting systems to identify theft, dishonest activity, and shortage trends.
• Partner with Asset Protection leaders, store teams, and law enforcement to support investigations and protect company assets.
• Use de-escalation tools and sound judgment to help maintain a safe environment for customers and colleagues.
• Prepare clear, timely, and accurate reports, statements, and evidence to support investigations, audits, and legal proceedings.
• Train colleagues on protocols that help protect company assets.
• Identify, investigate, and respond to theft and dishonest activity.
• Support the apprehension of shoplifters and dishonest employees while following company policies and legal requirements.
• Recover stolen merchandise and provide statements, evidence, and documentation to support investigations.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and legal standards related to apprehensions, searches, and evidence preservation.
• Testify in court for criminal and civil cases as needed.
• Respond to alarm calls, support special assignments, and facilitate first aid for customers and colleagues when needed.
• Foster acceptance and respect in relationships with colleagues, customers, and communities.
