About The Position

The Asset Protection Coordinator helps prevent inventory loss through coworker interactions and training, monitoring and surveillance, and a visible presence. The role includes engaging customers professionally, responding to their needs, supporting emergency situations, and maintaining confidentiality. This position is based at the Gainesville Distribution Center and is identified as overnight.

Requirements

• A valid security license is required in Washington DC, Denver, Colorado, New York City, New York, St. Louis, Missouri, and Oregon.
• Ability to maintain an active, visible floor presence as a deterrent in designated areas.
• Ability to remain calm when handling safety issues, including suspects who engage in aggressive behavior.
• Accountability, initiative, and a high level of ownership.
• Meet applicable local licensing requirements.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Greet and engage customers in a timely, professional, and personable manner, and respond to their needs.
• Maintain a visible presence by wearing a Nordstrom-provided security officer-style uniform.
• Perform monitoring and surveillance activities.
• Assess and assist in emergency situations.
• Reduce and control inventory loss through audits, training, and education.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
