American Girl NYC - Asset Protection Associate - 2nd Shift Short Term Assignment
About The Position
The Asset Protection Associate is part of the American Girl New York City retail store team and works to maintain a safe environment for customers, guests, and employees while safeguarding company assets. The role requires multitasking, strong communication, compassion and understanding, and the ability to maintain professional detachment. A valid New York State security license is required. The associate monitors and corrects safety concerns, controls or guides customer traffic when needed, provides positive and professional customer service, and helps diffuse escalated situations. The role also focuses on preventing asset loss through surveillance, employee package checks, and trash checks, while applying knowledge of civil and criminal laws pertaining to retail security. The associate serves as a safety mentor to store employees and leads by example.
Requirements
- A valid state-specific security license is required.
- Availability to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Nice To Haves
- One to two years of loss prevention, law enforcement, criminal justice, military, or security experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a broad and diverse workforce and customer base, including children.
