About The Position

Responsible to the IMP CP140 Aurora OWSS Project Manager, in support of the DND CP140 Aurora Aircraft Modifications and Special Projects, using Project Management principles. This responsibility includes the generation, interpretation, maintenance, and analysis of technical information with agreed schedules and other project data. This position will be located at 455 Boulevard de la Carrière, Gatineau, and will report to the CP140 WSM Office Team at DND.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and communication skills; strong presentation skills.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of military or civilian aircraft maintenance.
  • Good technical writing skills, the ability to read and interpret aircraft technical orders and drawings.
  • Ability to use MS Office software with particular abilities in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Microsoft Project.
  • Five (5+) years of aircraft maintenance or maintenance support experience.
  • Project management experience in or associated with military aircraft or civilian aircraft.
  • Be able to demonstrate a personal commitment to Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal project management training would be a significant advantage; PMP certification would be considered an asset
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in DND aircraft engineering administration.
  • Four (4) or more years of project management experience.
  • A working knowledge of the CF Supply System, SAP, or JDE would be an asset.
  • Training in Logistics Support, Reliability Centered Maintenance and/or asset management is a definite strength.
  • Training in aircraft mechanical systems is preferable.
  • A demonstrated awareness or participation in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 8S activities.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to inquiries from CP140 operational bases, and CP140 Weapon System Manager’s (WSM) staff by providing project related assistance and modification support in a timely manner.
  • Take full project management responsibility for each project lifecycle in accordance with Project Management principles.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of CP140 Canadian Forces Technical Orders (CFTO’s).
  • Prepare, and track the completion of project and modification related change documents (DND AF9000) associated with material modifications or technical changes. Carry out Configuration Management Activities when requested as well as publication amendment forms (AICPs and CMPCs) as directed by DND.
  • As required, prepare and review aircraft modification project proposals, project plans, CF Mod packages, information leaflets and/or SOWs (Statement of Work).
  • Ensure recommendations impacting airworthiness are coordinated with both DND and the IMP Senior Design Engineer.
  • Examine and coordinate the optimization of component Life Cycle Costing (LCC), which support customer requirements, with input from LSA Engineering and IMP Materiel.
  • Maintain IMP & DND databases related to Project Management.
  • Prepare, and/or assist with the preparation and delivery of briefings to DND personnel and IMP Management as required.
  • Participate in training, personnel development activities and continuous improvement.
  • Other duties assigned in support of Equipment Asset Management Specialists within the department.
