About The Position

The Asset Management Analyst will be an integral part of the Asset Management Team ("AM Team") responsible for executing the business plan for a portfolio of affordable multi-family assets owned by BRIDGE Housing. This role will support the Lead Asset Manager in various tasks related to assessing market conditions, operations, property conditions, compliance, capital expenditures, rent collection, and leasing opportunities at each property within the portfolio. The Analyst will report to an Asset Manager or Senior Asset Manager. This position will be onsite 3-days a week and will be based in the San Francisco corporate office.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of affordable housing knowledge is required.
  • Basic knowledge of finance, operations, and accounting principles in commercial real estate, with a willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn, contribute, and grow within the team.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with property management, ownership teams and all stakeholders.
  • A diplomatic and assertive approach to problem-solving, coupled with self-motivation.
  • Curiosity and a willingness to explore new approaches and solutions.
  • Must have the flexibility to travel to properties.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant experience in commercial real estate, preferably with an owner, lender, manager, syndicator, agency, or real estate consulting group is a plus.
  • BS/BA degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete and file monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to ensure compliance with lender and investor as well as tax credit funding requirements.
  • Assist in identifying and escalating significant issues to the Asset Manager/Senior Asset Manager.
  • Attend weekly Asset Management calls to discuss priorities, learn and contribute to discussions on best practices.
  • Participate in regular portfolio management meetings that are relevant to assigned properties.
  • Contribute to the annual property budgeting process, including but not limited to developing and maintaining cash flow and distribution projections, for assigned properties.
  • Update property databases and trackers.
  • In partnership with the Lead Asset Manager, conduct periodic inspections of all assets in portfolio with particular attention to any troubled assets.
  • Assist in annual property tax exemption filings.
  • Support the processes for reserve reimbursement and other capital project funding.
  • Ability to understand and research key documents (property audits, partnership documents, financing agreements, regulatory agreements, insurance coverages, tax returns, etc.).
  • Analyze/investigate monthly property budget-to-actual results by comparing them to proforma and key performance indicators (KPIs) established for each property.
  • In partnership with the Lead Asset Manager, prepare monthly, quarterly, annual and special/periodic Board, senior management, investor, lender and regulatory agency reporting, as assigned.
  • Train and support new staff members, as needed.
  • Assist with special projects and provide assistance to the asset management team as requested.
