About The Position

As a member of the Diageo USVI Leadership team, you will provide support, direction, training and coaching to your team, and other employees on site. You will lead and coach Engineering and Maintenance/Asset Care employees to ensure that industrial machinery and equipment runs smoothly and reliably. Tasks will include planning and implementing preventive maintenance measures, responding to equipment faults, diagnosing breakdown problems, handling maintenance repair projects, leading mechanical integrity program You will also work closely with multi-functional departments (Operations, Governance, Logistics, and Procurement) to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all areas of the Diageo USVI facility You will train your team to recognize and empower them to challenge unsafe working practices by driving Diageo’s zero harm culture.

Requirements

  • 4 year Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, (preferably in engineering, reliability, maintenance, or relevant field)
  • 20+ years experience in maintenance associated field, supervisor, planner, reliability, engineering or similar role
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experience with reliability analysis, predictive maintenance, asset performance management
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of general maintenance procedures
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Must be great teammate and excellent communicator
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Must be self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Must be field oriented. Position will require significant in the field time up to 50%, to facilitate learning site and performance of job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and lead asset reliability risks that could affect plant operations.
  • Leading the onsite Mechanical Integrity program.
  • Work with Mechanical integrity inspection company to organize and ensure data entry, review dashboard reports for inspections, plan future inspections and inspection program, and use Asset Program Management (APM) tool to prioritize inspection recommendations to elevating repairs/CAPEX as determined by inspection regime.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies and procedures.
  • Research, gather, review, and edit preventative maintenance plans, equipment warranties, instructions/training manuals, how-to-guides, assembly instructions and FAQ for operating equipment, as required to support Early Equipment Management process.
  • Develop and implement a robust asset care strategy, fully using the functionality of SAP PM
  • Perform routine equipment troubleshooting as needed in support of daily operations and team of 8 technicians with varying abilities in mechanical and instrumentation & electrical fields. This position is supported by two electrical engineers who will largely be responsible for assisting the I&E technicians.
  • Conduct reliability analysis, criticality and risk assessments
  • Provide technical support to team members and other departments (Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Finance, Stores, Lab, General Facilities, etc.)
  • Initiate improvement projects, advise regarding need for capital investment in coordination with company goals.
  • Lead approved capital improvement projects up to approximately 2 million dollars.
  • Develop stretching annual site Capital and maintenance plans and prepare and present the budget submissions.
  • Lead and be accountable for the delivery of the annual maintenance budget, and minor capital projects budget.
  • Facilitate the delivery of major capital projects in conjunction with Brand Technical Centre
  • Monitor performance of equipment and condition-based monitoring systems (Waites)
  • Support failure analysis processes through participation as needed to assess failure and implementation of corrective actions, lead investigations as determined by failure type
  • Implement and run maintenance management systems
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Good Manufacturing Practice, Food Safety Standards, etc..
  • Evaluate current equipment for obsolescence and coordinate with suppliers, procurement/logistics/store for upgraded equipment.
  • Ensure all mandatory equipment inspections occur and are documented appropriately.
  • Play a key role in the delivery of the Continuous improvement strategy
  • Perform regular walkd-owns across site to evaluate jobs to be performed by maintenance and contractors, equipment evaluation, safety audits, etc.
  • Keep records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections
  • Create the environment for open dialogue, promoting positive employee relations through effective listening, conflict management and issue resolution.
  • Provide performance feedback to your team members, address performance issues, taking disciplinary action if required
  • Other duties as assigned.
