About The Position

Rivendell Behavioral Health Services is seeking an Assessment and Referral Representative for its 80-bed behavioral healthcare acute care facility in Benton, Arkansas. The role handles a range of situations and patient populations and communicates with referral sources. It is per diem/as needed; shifts and days may vary, and the position is not remote. The representative receives and documents inquiry and referral calls, schedules assessments and admissions, completes admission and financial processes, and communicates patient needs to appropriate departments. The role also interviews patients and families to gather information that helps licensed professionals determine an appropriate level of care.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Nursing, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
CPR and Handle with Care training/certification are required; training/certification can be provided upon hire at the facility.
Willingness to work as a team with all staff.
Ability to treat all patients with respect.

Responsibilities

Receive inquiry and referral calls, complete an inquiry/referral form for each call, schedule assessments, and follow up on all inquiries and referrals.
Assist with scheduling patient admissions to the hospital.
Record information identifying the referral source and patient.
Verify all payor sources and complete a financial packet when appropriate.
Complete the admission process and distribute documents to the appropriate departments.
Record and screen patients’ clothing and valuables upon admission.
Interview patients and families to gather information to assist a licensed professional in determining the appropriate level of care.
Obtain signatures or appropriate consent and other admission forms from the legally responsible person.
Assign patient and account numbers.
Communicate special treatment needs and concerns to appropriate departments through continuity-of-care meetings or other means.
Perform other duties as assigned.
