About The Position

The Assembly Technician at Advantech is a key part of the production team, tasked with assembling PC board, Peripherals/components and cabling into chassis. This position will report to the Assembly Team Leader/Assist Assembly Team Leader of Production.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or college coursework in a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in PC hardware assembly.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Capability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 pounds; team assistance required for heavier items
  • Must wear a support belt for certain tasks involving lifting or over 35 lbs.
  • Strong multitasking and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage changing workloads and meet order schedules with high-quality results.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while identifying and resolving routine production issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel and support offsite service if needed.
  • Relevant product-oriented certifications or computer field training.

Responsibilities

  • Work overtime as needed based on production requirements and in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws
  • Review work orders and BOMs against SOPs/CTOs/OEM files for consistency and perform according to specifications.
  • Perform Quality hardware inspections before assembly for partial or complete system assembly.
  • Conduct power-on testing and validate workmanship to ensure products meet Advantech’s specifications and standards.
  • Support urgent production needs by assisting with system assembly, board-level assembly and basic testing tasks.
  • Perform support in system rework, hardware upgrades and product modifications based on ECOM and or customer requests.
  • Adhere to and able to follow ISO procedures, Customization to Order (CTO) files, Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) forms, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Collaborate and work with team members, PE teams, supervisors and managers to address assembly issues and meet quality targets.
  • Support overall tasks required in a particular production process.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation and production work area.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities related to the position as assigned.
