About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking an Assembly Technician II. The rate for this position is $20.00 per hour. The core hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:00 am - 4:00 pm and Friday from 7:00 am - 11:00 am. This position is eligible for a variable pay incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Greenwood facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position.
  • Willing to work flexible hours and overtime to support business needs.
  • Able to safely and effectively use various hand tools, power tools, step ladders, and cranes to assemble units.
  • Proficient in standard computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook and job‑specific software such as Enovia.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of industrial manufacturing experience
  • 1 year of experience using hand and air tools.
  • South Carolina Manufacturing Certification (SCMC) or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, wire, fit, and modify work in the manufacture of medium and high voltage, indoor and outdoor assemblies, breaker and auxiliary compartments, breakers, customer service orders, power modules, and any sub-assemblies associated with these.
  • Follow manufacturing information, electrical and mechanical drawings, sketches, and written or verbal instructions from supervisors or engineering, in accordance with established procedures.
  • Complete ISO checklists, quality checklists, customer checklists, feedback forms, and production lists as required by supervision, drafting, customer service, and engineering.
  • Mount and install electrical equipment and perform wiring operations as needed.
  • Regularly lift, handle, and assemble heavy copper components.
  • Maintain minimum Kanban inventory levels and promptly report shortages to the appropriate operators.
  • Inspect all assemblies to ensure hardware is secure and nothing is missing, and confirm overall cleanliness and workmanship.
  • Respond to change notices, customer-requested adjustments, and development-related updates.
  • Assist engineering, drafting, and supervision with customer-driven development or prototype work.
  • Work from detailed drawings, sketches, manufacturing information, and supervisor or engineering instructions, adhering to all established procedures.
  • Effectively train and coach colleagues to support knowledge transfer and skill development.
