About The Position

Under the direction of the supervisor and/or manager, this role involves directing the work of subordinates in the rigging group, training and coaching inexperienced employees, and performing checks on their work. The technician will maintain stable working relationships, assist in establishing and monitoring department goals, and maintain current production and line flow. Key responsibilities include obtaining and following instructions for rigging boats, performing drilling operations, using a caulk gun for watertight seals, and assembling/installing various parts and components such as dashes, trim, side moldings, fins, rudders, gas tanks, batteries, wiring, steering, controls, and engine settings. The role requires the use of various tools and materials, including small hand tools, screw guns, glue, knives, hoists, jigs, fixtures, and fasteners. The technician will push decks and hulls to workstations, ensure quality in assembly operations, move materials, and maintain a clean workstation. Additionally, the role requires reporting to work on time, adhering to company safety policies, working cooperatively with team members, using computer skills for PDA checks, and responding to quality control checks and charts.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to use power tools and related assembly equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions in assembly operations.
  • Knowledgeable of safety procedures and requirements.
  • Minimum of one-year MasterCraft experience.
  • Experience working in a minimum of seven assembly stations.
  • Ability to understand spoken instructions with regard to job training and safety concerns.
  • Ability to speak conversational English.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed finishing of all products.
  • Ability to deal with changes related to equipment use and productivity.
  • Moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), with or without accommodation.
  • Bending, walking, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Talking, hearing and normal vision are required.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the work of subordinates in the rigging group.
  • Train and coach inexperienced employees and perform checks on their work.
  • Maintain stable working relationships with fellow employees and supervisor/manager.
  • Assist in establishing and monitoring department goals and objectives.
  • Maintain current production and line flow.
  • Obtain, review, and follow instructions for rigging of each boat.
  • Perform drilling operations.
  • Use caulk gun to create watertight seals.
  • Assemble and install parts and components including dashes, trim, side moldings, fins, rudders, gas tanks, batteries, wiring, steering, control, engine setting, aligning, mounting and component connections.
  • Use a variety of tools and materials including small hand tools, screw gun, glue, knives, hoist, jigs, fixtures, and fasteners.
  • Push deck and hull approximately 100 feet to next workstation.
  • Ensure quality in assembly operations.
  • Move material to and from workstations.
  • Maintain clean and orderly workstation.
  • Report to work on time for designated shift.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Work cooperatively with team members.
  • Use computer skills to perform PDA checks.
  • Respond to quality control checks and charts.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
