Repair and Assembly Technician
About The Position
This role involves the repair and assembly of seals. Key responsibilities include recording and un-boxing incoming repairs, inspecting and analyzing seals, interpreting component part and assembly drawings, and disassembling seals. The technician will perform seal lapping, document table flatness, maintain a clean lapping area, and wash and blast parts. Basic maintenance of repair area equipment is also required. Additionally, the role supports inventory and warehouse functions, including picking parts, receiving shipments, boxing and shipping orders, and entering orders into SAP. The position may require overtime and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED preferred.
- Min. of 1 year assembly or production experience; and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Sufficient mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress.
- Good hand skills/dexterity.
- Ability to operate a Windows PC.
- Use of measuring equipment.
- Dial calipers and micrometers required.
- Ability to read and interpret detail drawings.
- Sufficient problem solving skills.
- Detailed oriented.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Self-motivated.
- Attention to detail.
- Willingness for continued “on the job learning and development”.
- Willingness to work “on-call” and/or overtime when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Recording and un-boxing of incoming repairs.
- Inspection and analysis of seals.
- Interpret and understand simple to complex component part and assembly drawings.
- Disassembly of seals sent in for repair.
- Seal Lapping: Lapping the seal faces.
- Documenting table flatness.
- Keeping the lapping area clean and functional.
- Washing and blasting of parts after disassembly.
- Basic maintenance of repair area equipment.
- Work overtime when required.
- Assembling seals.
- Inventory and Warehouse support: Picking parts, Receiving shipments, Boxing & shipping orders, Entering orders into SAP.
- Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice, as determined by business needs.
