About The Position

Responsible for the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the Assembly Quality Operating Systems. Focus on ensuring the maturity and sustainability of the QOS by developing and innovating practices and procedures while leading the digital transformation of the assembly quality area. Role is pivotal in coaching, driving problem-solving activities, fostering a built-in quality culture, and enhancing the analytical capabilities of the assembly quality team to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3 years of experience in the job offered, or in a preventive maintenance/compliance engineering position within the automotive chassis frame industry.
  • Experience providing support to assembly plant with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) applications and projects.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing predictive maintenance strategy and integrating predictive initiatives into the CMMS at an assembly manufacturing plant.
  • Experience can be gained concurrently.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maturity and sustainability of the QOS in the Assembly area.
  • Lead and supervise the development of a leading and lagging KPI System, ensuring that both proactive and reactive quality metrics are integrated into the system to provide a comprehensive view of quality performance.
  • Design, implement, and maintain quality practices, procedures, and processes to enhance performance and compliance.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to quality standards and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a Built-In Quality culture by driving the Plant Quality Principles, ensuring that quality is ingrained in every step of the assembly process and actively promoting ownership of quality across all levels of the organization.
  • Lead the digital transformation efforts within the assembly quality department by identifying opportunities, collaborate in the implementation and deployment of digital solutions.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (e.g. IT, Reliability Eng., Operations, Quality, Final Audit, etc.) to implement digital tools.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and maturity of digital tools and processes, adjusting as necessary.
  • Ensure the standardization of data sources, calculations, and visualization of all relevant Quality KPIs are easily accessible and consistently visualized for decision-making.
  • Coach and mentor assembly quality team on problem-solving techniques and analytical approaches.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective action processes to resolve quality issues in the assembly line.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in applying structural problem-solving methodologies.
  • Support the Assembly Quality Coordinator in managing, developing, and growing the assembly quality team.
  • Enable the team to take a more data-driven, analytical approach to quality management.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, promoting best practices and standards within the team.
  • Perform other duties/responsibilities at the Elizabethtown, KY facility, as needed.
