About The Position

The Assembly Coordinator is responsible for overseeing assembly processes on the manufacturing assembly line. This role supports assembly section teams to foster collaboration and teamwork, aiming to meet targets in Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, and People. The coordinator will monitor team performance, support continuous improvement activities, and lead the transformation plan for Metals Operating System model lines. They will assist Assembly Area Managers in maximizing production and quality while minimizing downtime and scrap, and promote the use of Metalsa Operating System standards in daily operations. The position also involves reporting unsafe acts and conditions, using innovation and teamwork to improve plant safety, and proactively contributing to better working conditions. Offering ideas for system improvements and assisting in their implementation is key. The role supports assembly operations in achieving plant quality objectives, ensuring 100% on-time delivery to customers and 0 PPM on parts. Understanding and exceeding customer needs, maintaining customer relationships, and contributing to the appearance of a World Class facility are also important. The coordinator will actively support the full implementation of 5S's for maintaining clean and well-maintained areas and be involved with Metalsa Operating System practices for continuous improvement and training within the assembly area. Duties may also include other responsibilities at the Elizabethtown, KY facility as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 3 years of experience in the job offered, or in assembly process or project engineering position within the automotive chassis frame industry.
  • Experience must include the design of streamline assembly line processing while ensuring adherence to stringent customer quality standards and requirements.
  • Must have hands-on experience enhancing productivity, efficiency and quality assurance of assembly line process.
  • Experience can be gained concurrently.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor Section Teams performance and support continuous improvement activities.
  • Lead transformation plan for Metals Operating System model lines.
  • Support Assembly Area Managers to maximize production and quality, minimizing downtime and scrap.
  • Promote and ensure the use of Metalsa Operating System standards in daily operations.
  • Report all unsafe acts and conditions immediately.
  • Use innovation process and the team concept to improve safety in the plant.
  • Be proactively involved with improving working conditions.
  • Offer ideas for improvement of all systems and help implement them.
  • Support assembly operations in achieving plant quality objectives/goals.
  • Help assure 100% on-time delivery to customers and 0 PPM on parts.
  • Understand customer needs and work toward meeting and exceeding them, maintaining working relationship with customers.
  • Help maintain an appearance of a World Class facility.
  • Actively support full implementation of the 5S’s, using it to approach and keep all areas clean, neat and properly maintained.
  • Actively involved with the Metalsa Operating System practices for continuous improvement/training within the assembly area.
  • Perform other duties/responsibilities at the Elizabethtown, KY facility, as needed.
