This position involves working individually or as part of a team to assemble, fill, kit, prepare, label, and/or package an entire product or component of a product according to Work Instructions. The role requires completing work based on specifications, drawings, job routings, and/or Work Instructions, and selecting and moving production materials as required. Maintaining equipment and materials necessary to complete the operation is also a key part of the role. The Assembly Operator must meet established safety, quality, and performance standards to ensure production schedules are met. Additionally, the role involves recording accurate information on the Manufacturing Order and performing transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balances. Compliance with all applicable safety procedures, quality specifications, and 5S Standards is mandatory. Reporting adverse conditions, non-conforming products/procedures, and 5S violations to the department leader in accordance with the escalation procedure is required. The position also requires adhering to department 5S standards daily and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area. In accordance with the escalation procedure, the operator must notify the team leader or other appropriate resource when problems arise concerning safety, quality, equipment, operations, materials, inventory, documentation, etc. Demonstrating flexibility by performing rotational assignments as needed and participating actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs are also expected.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge in use of scales
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Experience following work instructions or reading blueprints
  • Experience in assembling mechanical parts into a finished product
  • Experience in using hand and power tools
  • Prior experience working in a light industrial facility

Responsibilities
