Under direct supervision, the Assembly Operator performs routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes. This position requires availability for 2nd shift, with shifts determined by business needs. The role involves technical tasks such as machine and/or manual assembly, including scope, soldering, and computer work. Operators must accurately read and follow procedures, routing, and other work instructions, taking ownership of process accuracy. They are expected to meet internal and external customer deadlines, build parts that meet drawing specifications, and comply with quality system elements. The role also involves demonstrating initiative in problem-solving, using computer tools like SAP, and pursuing special process certifications and continuous improvement certifications. Communication with other functional groups is necessary to update, inform, acknowledge, or resolve production issues. Participation in cost reduction, waste minimization, and audits is also part of the role. The position requires the ability to be on feet for long periods, wear safety glasses and other required safety equipment, and effectively work in an environment with repetitive job responsibilities. A strong focus on safety and quality is essential. The role requires the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Training is typically conducted on 1st shift, and candidates must be willing to train on 1st shift for up to 4 weeks.
