Assembly Lead - 3rd
About The Position
The Assembly Lead works on-site at TriMas Packaging LLC in Auburn, Indiana, on the third shift from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The role supports manufacturing production and distribution, ensuring safe operations and the efficient production of quality products using injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and automated systems. The position involves setting up and starting molding machines, checking products with inspection tools, monitoring and troubleshooting processing issues, performing preventive maintenance, documenting process changes, and helping optimize molds for cycle time and quality. The Assembly Lead also supports efforts to reduce material scrap.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One or more years of experience in a leadership role.
- Three to five years of assembly experience through successful processing.
- Experience with lockout/tagout.
- Experience using calipers and indicating micrometers and reading inspection specifications.
- Hands-on experience with high-volume injection molding.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Troubleshooting ability.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in injection molding, assembly tooling, and/or maintenance is preferred.
- Previous Paulson Training is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Follow safety procedures and ensure safe practices are followed daily.
- Set injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and associated automated systems to regulated parameters and ensure they meet quality standards and production goals.
- Set up and start up molding machines.
- Inspect products using calipers, optical comparators, and other testing methods and devices.
- Monitor and troubleshoot processing problems.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks and document process changes.
- Help reduce material scrap to protect the environment and lower costs.
- Provide feedback on mold design and assist Tool and Die Makers in optimizing molds for cycle time and quality.
