Assembly and Test Specialist - 2nd/3rd Shifts - Supplemental

About The Position

As an Assembly and Test Specialist at Caterpillar Pontiac, you will perform routine assembly and testing of component products through various stages of manufacturing while working to continuously improve process efficiency. The role involves assembling, testing, reworking, and repairing fuel injectors and fuel pumps; assembling exhaust systems and PETU tanks with pumps, wiring harnesses, insulation, and other components; and operating test machines. You will also disassemble and reassemble complex components to repair or replace damaged injector parts to transport prime product. Positions begin as supplemental, with 36 or more hours per week and no holiday pay and limited benefits. Training takes place on first-shift hours, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience working in a manufacturing or engine maintenance role.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including schematics, standard work, and/or blueprints.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Use hand and pneumatic tools to assemble, test, rework, and repair fuel injectors and fuel pumps.
Use hand and pneumatic tools to assemble exhaust systems and PETU tanks with pumps, wiring harnesses, insulation, and other required components.
Operate test machines.
Disassemble and reassemble complex components to repair or replace damaged injector parts to transport prime product.
