About The Position

The Heavy Assembler assembles fabricated parts into relatively large or heavy subassemblies and complete units. The role fits, tests, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to ensure they meet tolerances and product specifications. Work follows defined procedures and standard output, consists primarily of routine tasks with specific instructions, and is closely supervised.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experienced use of hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous power tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work by reviewing assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gather parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
• Position parts and subassemblies using templates or measurements; assemble components, check connections for proper fit, fasten parts, and measure completed components to verify specifications.
• Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications and notify a supervisor when additional resources are needed.
• Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance, following manufacturer instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and requesting repairs.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations; complete production and quality forms.
• Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.
