About The Position

The Assembler position is responsible for using manufactured parts to assemble conveyors and portable plants. This may involve grinding or welding for better fit, addressing any unforeseen issues, and informing engineers when necessary. The role also includes placing safety warnings on equipment as specified. The work environment is a climate-controlled shop that can be loud, and employees must be prepared for varying temperatures, fumes, or chemicals. Personal protective equipment is required on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

Assembles conveyors and portable plants.
Positions parts according to knowledge of the unit being assembled or by following blueprints.
Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners.
Removes small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to produce a close fit between parts.
Brings concerns to engineers.
Fixes welds and grinds to ensure better fits.
Operates drill press, punch press, or riveting machines to assist in assembly operations.
Performs final quality check before equipment is shipped.
Places safety stickers on equipment as specified.
Maintains an overall safe work environment.
Keeps work area clean.
Performs other duties as assigned.
