About The Position

This is a full-time Assembler position on the 2:00 PM-10:00 PM shift, with an hourly rate of $24.30 plus a $0.20 shift differential. The role involves being a member of the AMD (Autonomous Manufacturing Development) and CSD (Continuous Skills Development) Pillar Team, supporting DDS (Daily Direct Setting). Responsibilities include adhering to safety policies, OSHA rules, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), including proper waste disposal, attire, grooming, and hygiene. The job requires obtaining work schedules and production paperwork, inspecting and assembling cleaned production equipment, and setting up processes according to the product being run. Tasks also include visually inspecting, sorting, and arranging products, removing non-conforming items, and reporting deviations to supervisors and QA personnel. Maintaining a clean work area and complying with 5S requirements are essential. The Assembler may be assigned to various jobs within the department, including packing, boxing, and slicing areas, to cover for vacations or absenteeism.

Requirements

  • Comply with plant LockOut/TagOut (LOTO) policy and implement the correct procedure for the LOTO of machines operated
  • Obtain work schedule, obtain daily production paperwork and prepare for operations.
  • Inspect and assemble cleaned production equipment
  • Set-up process in accordance with product being run.
  • Visually inspect, sort and arrange franks on conveyor
  • Remove non-conforming product and place in rework bin.
  • Report any deviations in product or machine requirements to supervisor and QA personnel.
  • Keep work area clear and clean
  • Place trash in proper receptacles
  • Comply with 5S requirements
  • Count out and place franks into slots on conveyor according to work order specification for packing.
  • Monitor the vacuum packaging process
  • Visually inspect packages of franks on conveyor
  • Remove non-conforming product and place in appropriate rework tub.
  • Consolidate rework tubs for future processing
  • Assist other Operators and Assemblers as required.
  • Hand fill boxes with packages of meat products according to work order specification
  • Pack special orders of product as directed.
  • Manually fold over top flaps of full box and guide box through box sealer.
  • Fill box maker magazine with stacks of case blanks
  • Assemble boxes
  • Place label on box
  • Change tape rolls as needed.
  • Position empty pallet to exit end of case sealer conveyor
  • Hand stack sealed cases on pallet according to stack pattern.
  • Manually wrap full pallets
  • Transport to staging area with a power jack as required.
  • Strip and rework product
  • Check the production schedule for the product being run
  • Check to ensure the proper packaging supplies are available.
  • Obtain packaging supplies from staging area with a pallet jack
  • Position packaging supplies to packaging line as needed.
  • Obtain meat products from rack
  • Manually cut tails on thick and wide or place meat products onto slicer machine.
  • Set cut / sliced meat on scale to check weights
  • Place cut / sliced meat products into pockets on vacuum pack line
  • Monitor line and weights.
  • Monitor equipment
  • Clear jams
  • Check labels
  • Perform quality checks as required.
  • Breakdown and clean the machine parts at the end of the shift or when necessary as required.
  • Secure all equipment at end of shift
  • Perform general housekeeping duties
  • Complete all required Other job duties assigned.

  • May be assigned to perform any job in the department including one or more of the jobs described below or as substitute to cover for vacations or unexpected absenteeism.
  • Count out and place franks into slots on conveyor according to work order specification for packing.
  • Monitor the vacuum packaging process, visually inspect packages of franks on conveyor and remove non-conforming product and place in appropriate rework tub.

  • Place cut / sliced meat products into pockets on vacuum pack line, monitor line and weights.
  • Monitor equipment, clear jams, check labels and perform quality checks as required.
  • Perform job duties according to the following work instructions: 0549.4.2.3.011 – Assembler, 0549.4.2.3.067 - Teardown, 0549.5.1.3.010 – Kosher Hold Tag, 0549.5.4.2.005 – Control of Non Conforming Product, 0549.6.4.3.001 – Contamination Control
  • Breakdown and clean the machine parts at the end of the shift or when necessary as required.
  • At end of shift, secure all equipment, perform general housekeeping duties and complete all required Other job duties assigned.
