About The Position

S&C Electric Company is hiring an Assembler for its LVE Assembly team. The role assembles standard and custom medium-voltage switchgear in a production environment, where team members maintain continuous productive activity and meet requirements within time constraints. The successful candidate will initially work at one station and must be flexible about working at additional stations as business needs require. The position involves intermediate-level wiring and mechanical assembly using schematics and assembly instructions; mounting components, routing and securing cables, and checking fit and function; and cleaning machined parts. Assemblers inspect work against quality standards, maintain task and quality records, follow safety procedures, use internal systems to close jobs and request materials, and handle materials with an overhead crane and other equipment. The role also includes mentoring less-experienced team members. The scheduled hours are 4:30 PM to 1:00 AM, Monday through Friday. Training may take place on first shift, and overtime may be required based on business needs. The estimated hourly base pay is $20.25–$23.25, with eligibility for an annual short-term incentive bonus subject to eligibility criteria.

Requirements

0–1 years of experience in mechanical or electrical assembly; manufacturing experience is preferred.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
High proficiency in precise, delicate hand and finger tasks, including manipulating small objects and operating tools and intricate equipment.
Ability to understand blueprints, Bills of Materials (BOLs), and electrical schematics.
Attention to detail and ability to determine accurate part quantities consistently.
Good written and verbal communication skills to convey information effectively to team members in production support departments.
Basic computer skills, including reviewing and responding to requests through internal applications.
Basic math skills, including calculating measurements and weights.
Good interpersonal and organizational skills, and ability to understand and complete requests from team members inside and outside the department.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measurement tools.
Ability and willingness to follow Health, Safety & Environment procedures and promptly report concerns to the safety action team.
Ability to train and mentor less-experienced team members.
Ability to perform repetitive work requiring eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity using both hands and arms.
Ability to work while standing on ladders and occasionally inside tight compartments.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate records of work performed, deviations, and quality concerns.
Follow safety protocols when handling tools, equipment, and materials, and promptly report safety hazards.
Use Oracle ERP and other internal systems to close jobs and request material replenishment.
Mentor less-experienced team members.
Use an overhead crane and other material-handling equipment to move and position materials for assembly.
Remain flexible to work at additional stations as business needs require.
