About The Position

The Assembler produces wood roof trusses, wall panels, or floor trusses by performing one or more repetitive jobs on an assembly line or sub-assembly line. The work involves inserting materials, clamping and fitting parts, and using some hand tools.

The role is based at the Future Frame Megan Plant in New Caney, Texas, and takes place in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of associates and managers.
• Ability to perform assembly tasks and successfully work in a team environment.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience is preferred, but not required.
• Lean experience is a plus.
• Ability to learn and apply Lean Practices and gain CPR/AED and forklift certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assemble trusses or wall panels by positioning lumber and plates on the line, aligning them within the hardware and according to the truss paperwork.
• Set press machine pins as directed by the Production Manager.
• Hammer plates into lumber on the bottom of the truss.
• Release assembled trusses from hardware onto racks or stacks on the ground.
• Keep the work area free of miscellaneous equipment and debris.
• Sweep the work area at the end of the shift.
• Report unsafe working conditions and practices to the Production Management team.
• Comply with OSHA, employee conduct, and safety guidelines.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Floor Supervisor or Management.
