About The Position

RRD is a leading global provider of marketing, packaging, print, and supply chain solutions. The company offers creative execution and world-wide business process consulting, with services designed to lower environmental impact. Assemblers/Kitters are responsible for the final packaging of products for RRD customers, including medical and food-grade components. This role involves reading and following work order instructions and assembly processes precisely, achieving expected rates while accurately assembling customer products, and efficiently folding boxes and packaging products. Key tasks include accurate counting, monitoring scales for variances, proper scanning, and precise label placement. The role also requires vigilance for faulty, damaged, or nicked materials to ensure quality, notifying leads about low inventory, positive communication with co-workers, and compliance with all facility safety and work rules, including security requirements, job costing, accident reporting, and emergency evacuation procedures. General housekeeping duties and participation in required trainings and audits are also part of the job.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret job specifications and identifying the correct parts for fulfilling customer orders.
  • Basic communication skills (written and/or verbal).
  • Basic knowledge of routine packing procedures, techniques, equipment and general warehouse procedures.
  • Able to stock, move, arrange, and rotate items in accordance with operating instructions or under guidance of a higher-level employee.
  • Able to complete appropriate forms relating to stock description, quantity, unit of issue, and the labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Skill in assembling standard shipping boxes and packing contents securely.
  • Basic arithmetic to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

  • Prior warehouse or kitting experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow work order instructions

  • Perform all functions of pack out accurately
  • Count accurately, watch scales for variances, and scan properly
  • Place labels precisely on product
  • Watch for faulty, damaged, or nicked materials or packages to ensure the Quality Policy and Objectives are being met
  • Notify lead when assembly/component inventory supplies are low
  • Communicate with co-workers in a positive, business-like manner
  • Comply with all facility safety and work rules; including, but not limited to security requirements, completion of a job costing card (white card), and following proper procedures for accident/incident reporting, emergency evacuation, etc.
  • Demonstrate a professional manner.
