About The Position

Assemblers are responsible for the assembly of metal products, such as valves and hydraulic cylinders, according to directions while supporting the direct labor operations of the Fabrication Department. They look for faulty components and mistakes throughout the assembly process to ensure quality by allowing assemblers to fix problems before defective products are made.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with others as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in taking accurate measurements and performing basic arithmetic.
  • Ability to work independently and with others.
  • Proficiency in using a measuring tape and other measuring tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must wear approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times, including safety glasses, a respirator, hearing protection, and steel-toed (steel or composite toe) shoes.
  • Strict adherence to all established safety practices is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble parts according to specifications.
  • Read and understand schematics and blueprints.
  • Position or align components and parts, either manually or with hoists.
  • Operate drill presses and punch press machines.
  • Disassemble valves for salvage.
  • Conduct quality control checks.
  • Test assemblies as required.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance and ensure the safekeeping of equipment.
  • Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and finish surfaces using hand tools and/or portable power tools.
  • Use various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to company safety procedures and regulations.
  • Clean and maintain the work area and equipment, including tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
