General Assebler 1 - Hours 6am- 2;30pm Mon - Fri. OT may be requested
About The Position
This is a temp-to-hire role for an Assembler 1, General position. The company is looking for professionals who are attentive and focused on their work, rather than engaging in gossip. The team operates in a confined space with over 60 people working closely together. The manager is keen on converting successful temporary employees to full-time status. Attendance is mandatory daily, and overtime may be required, including specific mandatory overtime dates. The role involves using various equipment to move materials and products, sorting and inspecting items, and maintaining quality records. It requires developing skills in basic tasks and adhering to standard operating procedures and quality guidelines, working under general to limited supervision.
Requirements
- Must have at least one year of experience in a warehouse/manufacturing/or quality position.
- Must be one continuous year on the same job as a minimum.
- Ability to read rulers, and must have good vision.
- Must have good writing skills, and maintain good documentation practices.
- 1+ year warehouse experience or related experience and/or training.
- Effective communication skills at a level co-workers and Team Lead/Supervisor can understand.
- Ability to read, write, interpret and comprehend documents written in English and perform basic math calculations.
- Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment.
- General computer skills.
- The job can require lifting and/or moving over 50 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- HS Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Uses a variety of equipment such as inspection and light equipment, handcarts, to move materials, parts, assemblies and scrap products or goods within a plant, office or warehouse.
- Sort and inspect materials.
- Maintain quality records.
- Develops skills in basic tasks, techniques and procedures within one skill area / process / method.
- Applies basic knowledge and skills to complete routine tasks consisting of prescribed steps.
- Works within clearly defined SOPs and / or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines.
- Works under general to limited supervision.
