About The Position

The Asphalt Paving Equipment Mechanic diagnoses, maintains, and repairs heavy-duty machinery used in asphalt paving operations, including pavers, rollers, milling machines, and related equipment. The role helps ensure equipment performs optimally and minimizes downtime on construction sites by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.

Technicians are encouraged to participate in the company's in-house training program to develop additional diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and advance their careers. Company uniforms are provided.

Requirements

• Four years of previous heavy equipment or over-the-road (OTR) repair experience.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and a solid understanding of engine, power train, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Possess own tools.
• Positive attitude and high energy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
• Intermediate language skills: ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Basic mathematical skills: ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10s and 100s, including using American units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
• Intermediate reasoning ability: apply common-sense understanding to written, oral, or diagrammed instructions and address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities
