About The Position

The Asphalt Laborer will be responsible for executing asphalt installation and repair tasks with precision and efficiency. This includes pavement resurfacing, patching, and pothole repair. The role involves operating and maintaining various asphalt equipment, preparing work areas, monitoring quality control, collaborating with team members, and ensuring safety compliance. General labor duties and daily inspections are also part of the responsibilities. Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
• Maintain an effective working relationship with others.
• Perform with minimum supervision.
• Perform heavy physical work, often under adverse weather conditions.
• Available to work overtime.
• Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot potential issues.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Report to work at the designated start time.
• Willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License (CDL Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Execute asphalt installation and repair tasks with precision and efficiency, including pavement resurfacing, patching, and pothole repair.
• Operate and maintain various asphalt equipment, such as pavers, rollers, skid steers, and milling machines, ensuring their safe and optimal functioning, and clean equipment after each use.
• Prepare work areas by cleaning, sweeping, and clearing debris, ensuring a smooth surface for asphalt application.
• Monitor and maintain high-quality standards throughout the asphalt paving process, checking for proper compaction, smoothness, and overall finish.
• Work closely with other crew members, including supervisors, equipment operators, and laborers, to ensure seamless workflow and timely project completion.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and others. Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
• Perform general labor duties.
• Perform daily pre-and-post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
• Wear proper PPE while on the job site and in the yard: Safety toed work boots, safety vest, work gloves, safety glasses and hard hat.
