About The Position

This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) ASOSU Campus Outreach Coordinator for the ASOSU at Oregon State University (OSU). The ASOSU Campus Outreach Coordinator serves on the ASOSU President's Public Relations Team to support the ASOSU Executive Branch in forging and enhancing relationships with the OSU student body and community. This involves organizing, interacting, and communicating with the student body through tabling events, club and fraternity/sorority chapter presentations, advisory board meetings, and marketing ventures. This role will also involve coordinating with other Executive Branch members to ensure accurate and equitable participation in outreach and engagement events. The Undergraduate Student Support Services Worker performs a variety of work related to the support and enhancement of the quality of student life at the university.

Requirements

  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
  • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
  • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
  • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term
  • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
  • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term
  • Maintenance of good academic and conduct standing and a cumulative and prior term 2.0 GPA
  • Commitment to promoting and advancing diversity and creating an atmosphere of inclusion for all students and community members
  • Communication skills in areas including but not limited to interpersonal, public speaking, digital, verbal, and written communications
  • Organizational skills, including managing time and working accurately with interruptions to meet a deadline; delegating tasks, when applicable
  • Working well under pressure, exercising flexibility, initiative, good judgment, and discretion

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive student engagement outreach strategy so that all branches in the ASOSU participate in tabling events, presentations, and other related activities
  • Communicate with student groups, clubs, and organizations who may inquire to the student government or whose areas of focus may be of interest to the ASOSU in its ongoing programming
  • Facilitate the sign-ups for such events with all ASOSU members so that each member may equally participate in outreach efforts
  • Facilitate the coordination of relative Executive Branch members to relative presentations and student groups/advisory boards
  • Serve as a representative and advocate for student engagement and marketing efforts in university meetings, committees, and events
  • Collaborate with the Outreach Committee in ASOSU Senate in outreach efforts
  • Coordinate community events monthly
