About The Position

Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Clinical Director provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure delivery of high quality, patient centered care. This position is responsible for overseeing clinical and administrative functions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing financial and operational performance. The Clinical Director collaborates with key stakeholders to drive quality improvement initiatives, maintain fiscal responsibility, and align ASC operations with organizational objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role in an ASC, hospital outpatient, or ophthalmology surgical setting.
  • Ophthalmology experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and regulatory compliance.
  • Prior experience with CMS and Washington State Department of Health.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting, staffing, and quality improvement principles.
  • Ability to mentor and motivate staff in a fast-paced environment.
  • Associate's degree in nursing required.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State; BLS and ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Meets established financial objectives and strives to stay within budget guidelines.
  • Annually reviews contracts to ensure financial viability to the facility.
  • Develops business objectives, establishes staffing patterns, and organizes workload while interacting with senior leadership, medical staff and the Governing Body to assure close coordination of business functions and goal directed performance objectives.
  • Assures facility licenses and certifications are active and maintained for corresponding standards. Plans, implements, and evaluates improvements in the delivery of care, employee/patient satisfaction and other quality assessment and improvement, and risk management activities.
  • Actively participates in planning and designing policies and procedures in collaboration with staff members, communicates clear understanding of job responsibilities, task objectives, deadlines and performance expectations.
  • Encourages cooperating, teamwork and job ownership.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and professionalism with community and other organizational members.
  • Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, their family, and other external and internal clients. Listen respectfully gives feedback directly, honestly and talks with others to clarify differences.
  • Supports initiatives designed to improve individual and organizational performance.
