About The Position

The ASC Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day clinical operation and oversight of the Center. The management spectrum covers planning, organizing, delegating, coordinating, staff utilization, resource allocation, cost controls, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Experience in procedures and/or operating room, PACU, or Pre-Admission in an endoscopic or surgical setting.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Current BCLS certification

Nice To Haves

  • Additional languages preferred.
  • Prefer one year of management experience in ambulatory care.

  • Submits documentation of required current licensure and/or certification in a timely manner, if applicable.
  • Encourages and promotes cross training activities for professional growth and in order to contribute to the overall function of the Center.
  • Actively participates in activities such as staff meetings, serving on committees, assisting with performance improvement and accepting special projects.
  • Assumes responsibility for updating knowledge of current policies and procedures, protocol and practices and teaching staff on updates and implementation.
  • Functions within scope of practice based on licensure, education, skills and experience.
  • Recognizes own limitations and asks for guidance when necessary.
  • Participates in the orientation of newly hired or transferred employees. Serves as a positive role model.
  • Demonstrates satisfactory attendance record.

  • Provides for services to handle equipment malfunctions.
  • Identifies when and how to complete a variance report form. Provides a system in which the reports can be handled. Coaches staff as necessary about reporting, completing the form, and reviewing reasons for variance and opportunities for improvement. Communicates with risk manager and management appropriately to inform of and to assess issues.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of how/what types of utility problems are reported and solved.
  • Solves issues or takes appropriate action regarding potential or real security risks occur.
  • Contributes to and participates in the performance improvement activities. Delegates and manages quality assessments. Manages opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Demonstrates appropriate information release to the customer served.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient and employee information in accordance with standards.
  • Develops and implements an adequate staffing plan.
  • Determines the qualifications and competence of management personnel. Has a current verification system in place for credentialing, education requirements, qualifications and skills.
  • Demonstrates effective interviewing skills by hiring qualified individuals who have the capacity to do the job. Establishes staffing requirements and policies for recruitment, selection and placement of qualified personnel.
  • Provides the opportunity for in-service training and continuing education to all persons in the department. Determines that education files are maintained.
  • Effectively manages retention and turnover. Evaluates why employees continue their employment or leave, to implement improvements where necessary.
  • Conducts timely performance and competency appraisals, setting challenging performance goals for immediate subordinates.
  • Determines that job specifications and descriptions for nursing and support personnel are maintained and updated as necessary.
  • Coaches and counsels/disciplines staff as required. Provides written documentation to support coaching and/or counseling/discipline sessions as appropriate.
  • Recognizes employees who demonstrate professional interpersonal skills, technical competence and positive customer relations skills.
  • Reviews with management difficult employees and potential for termination of employee to assure compliance to Human Resources program and policies.
  • Confers with management on budget. Manages adherence to financial goals and provides information on variances of actual to budget.
  • Develops and implements plans for the security, storage and destruction of supplies required in a cost-effective manner.
  • Recommends and initiates cost saving measures that do not hinder services/care.
  • Determines that controls for supplies, equipment and staffing are in place for successful operation of the department. Directs and delegates control of inventories to ensure proper amounts available.
  • Ensures time and attendance records are accurately completed as required.
