About The Position

In partnership with the Ankeny Medical Park Surgery Center (AMPSC), DMOS is completing a search for a Managing Director (RN) to partner with the Governing Board. AMPSC serves Endoscopy and Orthopedics patients. This position is key to assuring high quality, convenient and cost-effective patient care. The Director will be responsible for the effective operation including financial reporting, accounting operations, and clinical leadership. The roll oversees, manages, and performs management duties in administrative operations and compliance at the professional level by partnering with clinical management professionals. Support for employee relations, revenue cycle, safety and procurement are provided. Requirements

  • RN with OR experience preferred.
  • Medical management experience in a similar role or surgery center setting.
  • Must be able to identify problems, and conflicts and work proactively towards resolution.
  • Can work well with a Board of Directors and partner with current leadership to continue outstanding results.
  • Can perform financial analysis, accounting functions, and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Proficiency in typing and using computers.
  • Adaptable and able to adjust your schedule to ensure department work gets done.
  • If needed, you can support your staff with your RN experience.

Responsibilities

  • Professionally and positively represents the facility by responsibly supporting and speaking on behalf of the organization for delivery of clinical care including clinical pathway, staffing plans, and patient services.
  • Leads, manages, and support staff to maintain a positive and ethical work climate by demonstrating the highest ethical standards in the role which is conducive to attracting, retaining, and motivating a group of quality professionals.
  • Responsible for understanding the organization’s financial position and professionally providing meaningful data for the quarterly financial and operating reports presented to the Governing Board.
  • Partners with and serves as the operational liaison with physicians and members of the Governing Board; Appraises the organization’s financial position and issues regular financial and operating reports to the Governing Board; Responsible for putting together an annual operating and capital budget; Assumes responsibility for development, implementation and evaluation of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures to achieve strategic plan as approved by the Governing Board.
  • Responsible for administrative services (with support of third-party support professionals) in the areas of budgeting, credentialing, accounting, purchasing, insurance, employment, and marketing needed for the efficient operation. Always strives for quality of care at a cost-effective level.
  • Responsible in conjunction with the Medical Director and Quality Improvement Committee to assure high quality medical care is provided; Works with the Nurse Managers and Quality Specialist Quality Coordinator to identify problem areas in delivery of patient care and works toward solutions.
