We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Asbestos Claims Paralegal to join our growing team. This position will play a vital role in supporting the preparation and submission of asbestos-related claims and assisting with the day-to-day management of claim files. The ideal candidate will be organized, communicative, eager to learn, and comfortable working with sensitive documents and data in a high-volume setting. This is an entry-level opportunity, and prior asbestos experience is not required. Training will be provided. This role is on-site in our Fort Lauderdale office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; recent college graduates are encouraged to apply

  • Previous legal, administrative, internship, customer service, or office experience is helpful but not required

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparing, filing, and managing asbestos-related claims with accuracy, including helping address deficiencies as needed
  • Input and manage data in the internal case management system
  • Communicate with clients, claims representatives, and the firm’s various internal departments, such as liens, accounting, intake, and estates
  • Assist with gathering and organizing client, medical, employment, and exposure-related information
  • Assist with complying with audit requests and other claim-related deadlines
  • Conduct client outreach to gather required information and provide claim status updates
  • Review various records and case materials, including deposition transcripts and other documents, and assist with preparing summaries for attorneys
  • Assist attorneys and senior paralegals with monitoring case and claim deadlines and completing other related tasks
  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic case files and documentation
