About The Position
The RiverStone Group, founded in 1999 and operating as part of Fairfax Financial Holdings, is a global insurance and reinsurance services organization specializing in legacy (run-off) insurance management, claims administration, and risk solutions. RiverStone helps insurers and reinsurers transfer and manage discontinued or non-core portfolios, enabling clients to free up capital and focus on active underwriting businesses. This role will manage asbestos, pollution, and/or other claims involving historical insurance policies.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of claims handling experience, litigation experience, or related background
- Experience with management and evaluation of litigation and claims
- Ability to manage multiple complex matters in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
Nice To Haves
- Experience with coverage analysis
- JD, CPCU, SCLA, or CCLA
Responsibilities
- Manage asbestos, pollution, and/or other claims involving historical insurance policies
- Review lawsuit and/or claim notices and interpret policy coverage
- Coordinate with defense counsel, expert witnesses, and peer insurance carriers
- Evaluate liability and damages
- Drive litigation strategy and settlement negotiations
- Collaborate with the Reinsurance team on reporting and recovery efforts
- Support due diligence requests and travel as needed
- Maintain required adjuster licenses
