About The Position

The New Jersey Judiciary, a team of 8500 members operating with high standards of independence, integrity, fairness, and quality service, is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented individual for a part-time position in the Finance Division. This role involves implementing a special project related to inactive records storage, destruction, and removal, and providing general support to the Finance Division as needed. The position is limited to a maximum of 944 hours in a fiscal year. The Judiciary offers opportunities for growth and is committed to improving the lives of the public it serves. Applicants are advised that this is a multi-county Vicinage (Somerset, Hunterdon, and Warren) and reassignment may be necessary based on operational needs.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and three years of professional experience in program development, program coordination, program analysis, program administration and/or administrative research.
  • Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits.
  • An associate's degree and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • A master's degree may be substituted for one year of experience.
  • A law degree may be substituted for two years of experience.
  • Degrees conferred outside of the United States must be evaluated by a recognized evaluation service.
  • Must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting.
  • Must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey within one year of hiring, unless an exemption is granted.

Responsibilities

  • Auditing stored records.
  • Advising each Division of the regarding records retention policy.
  • Coordinating with Finance Division and vendors to assess needs in 9 distinct divisions/areas.
  • Preparing proposals.
  • Coordinating furniture installation and configuration.
  • Assisting with the reconciliation of fixed assets related to the movement, disposal and new purchases of furniture related to this project.
  • Assisting with the solicitation of quotes for new furniture.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Provide the Finance Division with general support as needed or as time permits.
