About The Position

The Sr. Director, Division Finance, oversees the financial activities of a multi-unit global company. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Division Finance, this position leads the preparation of reports and analysis which consolidate, summarize and forecast the company’s business activity and financial position in areas of income, expense and earnings based on post, present and expected operations; to include P&L, balance sheet, operating budgets, and key metrics (KPI’s). Maintains a system of internal controls to protect the division and company assets.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data (Cost Accounting, GAAP, IFRS, etc.).
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and financial planning.
  • Adept at developing opportunities through close collaboration with peers and colleagues.
  • Adept at leadership and management of change with the ability to diagnose and solve problems, articulate a plan, continuously improve processes, and implement solutions.
  • Highly skilled and proficient with the use of personal computers; including financial spreadsheet analysis and mainstream office software; ability to author, design and deliver professional MS PowerPoint presentations a plus.
  • Able to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Able to identify and consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and choose the most appropriate solution.
  • Able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

  • Able to work irregular and/or long hours including weekends and holidays as financial reporting schedules dictate.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field is required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting is required; preferably in a publicly traded manufacturing operation.
  • Demonstrated success managing finance across multiple business units or divisions, with experience aligning diverse teams around unified operational goals.

  • MBA and/or CPA is preferred.
  • Ability to author, design and deliver professional MS PowerPoint presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead transformation of consistency in reporting/analysis at all levels (Operating entities, Group Entities, and Corporate) through collaboration with Group Controllers and VP of Corporate Finance.
  • Collaborate with Group Controllers to achieve the company strategy and financial targets.
  • Support Division Finance VP in providing strategic counsel and insights to EVPs to drive profitable growth.
  • Lead and oversee preparation and consolidation of financial statements, business activity reports, forecasts, and annual budgets for Alamo Groups operating entities.
  • Supports M&A activities at the division and corporate level by analyzing potential acquisitions or divestitures, participating in due diligence activities and leading/supporting business integration activities as needed.
  • Liaise with corporate accounting team in preparation of materials to support internal and external audits as required.
  • Develop and maintain internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures in order to ensure completion of accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
  • Participate in or lead digitalization efforts such as ERP upgrades, automation implementation, and others.
