This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days onsite at client in either New York, NY, Jersey City, NJ, Pennington, NJ, Charlotte, NC, Chicago, IL or Plano, TX.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with IBM i (AS/400), OS/400 operations, and system administration.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in CL, RPG/RPGLE, COBOL, SQL/DB2, and file structures.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with job scheduling tools and monitoring platforms.
  • HS Diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Five or more years of experience with IBM AS/400
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and production support governance.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in environments with strict audit/compliance requirements (SOX, PCI, HIPAA).
  • Exposure to modernization initiatives (APIs, integrations, automation).
  • Ability to drive operational readiness assessments and close MAPS gaps.
  • Experience coordinating across distributed teams (onshore/offshore).

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily batch cycles, restart failed jobs, and ensure SLA compliance.
  • Analyze spool files, logs, and message queues to identify root causes.
  • Support deployments, code promotions, and environment changes.
  • Perform RCA and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues.
  • Maintain security controls, user profiles, and audit compliance.
  • Maintain and update runbooks, SOPs, escalation paths, and batch recovery procedures.
  • Ensure incident, problem, and change management processes are followed consistently.
  • Standardize operational workflows across applications and teams to reduce variability.
  • Validate that deployment, rollback, and RCA processes are documented and adhered to.
