About The Position

Richland Library is seeking to hire an Arts Intern at our Main location. This is a 12-week position, running from May 25 to August 14, 2026. The intern will assist with the installation and de-installation of gallery shows and displays, support the Resident Artist during workshops and classes (including evenings and weekends as needed), and attend and assist with gallery receptions and library art events. The Richland Library is a vibrant, contemporary organization that provides resources and information to advance the Midlands. It offers state-of-the-art technology, a great variety of literary and cultural programs, and 12 facilities throughout the county, providing a customized, modern library experience. Requirements

  • College students currently enrolled at an accredited institution.
  • Excellent computer, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Is able to climb ladders, lift up to 25lbs, and use tools to display/hang many types of art
  • Interest in public library service, especially in providing excellent customer service.
  • Must be able to legally work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with Installation / De-installation of Gallery shows and displays
  • Assists Resident Artist during workshops and classes (weekends and evenings as needed)
  • Attends and assists with Gallery receptions and Library art events
