About The Position

CRDN Midwest is seeking an Art Specialist to handle, clean, document, and restore artwork and specialty pieces at its Omaha facility. The work includes paintings, sculptures, frames, and other unique items with financial and sentimental value. The role calls for careful, methodical work, steady hands, attention to detail, and patience. Over time, the specialist will become an in-house art expert and help train others.

Requirements

Experience handling fine art or delicate items; experience in a gallery, museum, framing, art conservation, moving, or restoration is a plus.
Exceptional attention to detail and a careful, methodical approach.
Comfort taking photographs and entering information into software using a tablet or computer.
Clear communication skills and a team-first mindset.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
Interest in becoming a subject matter expert and sharing knowledge with others.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a gallery, museum, framing, art conservation, moving, or restoration.

Responsibilities

Carefully handle and transport paintings, sculptures, frames, and specialty pieces.
Photograph and document each piece in the inventory system with clear, accurate descriptions.
Assess items and identify which are restorable and which are non-salvageable.
Apply CRDN-approved cleaning and restoration processes.
Pack and protect artwork for safe storage and transport.
Stage pieces in the correct production areas and update their locations by scanning QR codes.
Communicate special handling needs to the Production Manager and team.
Keep the art restoration space clean, safe, and organized.
Audit art documentation weekly for accuracy and completeness.
Train peers on art handling, packing, and documentation standards.
Identify opportunities to improve art handling, storage, and cleaning processes.
