About The Position

The Water Damage Restoration Labor Specialist, also referred to in the posting as the Emergency Services Specialist, performs emergency mitigation services and monitors residential and commercial properties affected by water, fire, smoke, mold, sewer, or storm damage. This is a labor-intensive position involving work at job sites that may be dirty, dusty, wet, hot or cold, not climate controlled, scorched by fire, or affected by mold. Work takes place at various job sites and in a warehouse, indoors and outdoors, and may involve unsanitary or contaminated conditions and close quarters such as crawl spaces, small enclosed rooms, and attics. The regular schedule is 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, although hours may vary. The role also requires rotational after-hours/on-call work beyond the normal workday, including nights, weekends, and/or holidays, as well as occasional overnight travel for storm-related emergency mitigation operations. Gloves, a back brace, respirators, and splash goggles are available for use. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen, background screening, and reference check, and must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Requirements

High school or technical education.
At least 21 years of age.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
2–3 years of experience performing water/fire emergency restoration work or similar construction-related labor-intensive work.
Great attention to detail.
Team spirit, a positive attitude, and excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work after hours/on-call on a rotational basis and travel overnight occasionally.
Must provide own hand tools, such as a hammer, pry bar, screwdriver, and tape measure.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, background screening, and reference check.

Relocate affected contents as needed to remove damaged materials.
Float carpet to dry.
Set up and monitor drying equipment.
Apply antimicrobial products.
Maintain a clean and safe job site.
Monitor residential and commercial properties affected by water, fire, smoke, mold, sewer, or storm damage.
Work after hours/on-call on a rotational basis and occasionally travel overnight to assist with storm-related emergency mitigation operations.
