About The Position

The Art Model serves as a primary-purpose model for drawing, painting, sculpture, and other art-related classes. Under the supervision of the class instructor and during class hours, the model helps students study human proportions, body alignment, anatomy and structure, movement, foreshortening, and the relationships between the body and clothing. The work may involve draped and undraped modeling, including undraped posing for courses studying surface anatomy and the forms and proportions of the human body. Models may be asked to hold poses for up to 20 minutes at a time and remain on their feet for up to four hours, with five-minute breaks every 20 minutes. This is a temporary position with a variable schedule based on the class schedule and a maximum of 520 hours per fiscal year.
