Armed Security Officer (Cleveland, Ohio)
About The Position
Sahara Global Security is hiring an Armed Security Officer to protect a facility and its property in person in Cleveland, Ohio. The position pays $22–$25 per hour. Officers secure the site through observation and inspections, monitor surveillance equipment and access-control points, and permit or deny entry. They respond to alarms, prevent losses and damage, address policy violations and trespassers, direct traffic, and document observations and activity. Officers are expected to act professionally, communicate and coordinate with the team, de-escalate volatile situations, protect vulnerable people, and contribute to a safe and secure environment. Applicants must provide their own duty equipment and relocate to Cleveland, Ohio, before starting work. Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of security experience.
- At least 2 years of customer service experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- OPOTA 20-hour firearms certification.
- Ability to relocate to Cleveland, Ohio 44131, before starting work.
- Applicants are responsible for supplying their own duty equipment.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of law enforcement experience.
- At least 1 year of military experience.
Responsibilities
- Secure facilities and property through observation and inspections.
- Monitor surveillance equipment and access-control points; permit or deny entry to the premises.
- Sound facility alarms to alert others to threats or incidents.
- Prevent losses and damage, report irregularities, inform violators of policies and procedures, and restrain trespassers.
- Direct drivers to control traffic.
- Write reports, maintain activity logs, record observations and surveillance activity, and interview witnesses.
- Conduct oneself professionally, courteously, and in an uplifting manner, including with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Comply with legal requirements.
- Communicate and coordinate with teammates, deconflict, share ideas, and complement others’ efforts.
- De-escalate volatile situations and protect vulnerable people from physical and non-physical threats.
