About The Position

The Armed Security Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for clients by monitoring and patrolling the premises, preserving order, and enforcing site regulations and directives. Officers may provide customer service and information, screen people entering public areas, monitor surveillance systems, and serve as a physical deterrent. The role may require responding to emergencies where escalation and use of force may be appropriate. Officers work with law enforcement, government staff, and the community, and must meet applicable state, county, and municipal licensing and permit requirements.

This is a full-time position based at the primary site in Helena, Montana. The available schedule is Monday through Friday, 12 a.m. to 8 a.m. The rate is $23.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license and clear driving record.
• Standard computer and technology skills.
• Calm, polite, and professional behavior.
• IPAT evaluation required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Willingness to participate in pre-employment screening, including a drug screen and background investigation.

Nice To Haves

• Prior military, law enforcement, or armed security experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine site patrols on foot and in a vehicle, checking for safety and security threats.
• Respond swiftly and effectively to emergency situations, with appropriate escalation and use of force when required.
• Work directly with law enforcement, government staff, and the community.
• Write detailed incident reports about unauthorized or suspicious activity, emergencies, and related events.
• Screen people entering public entrances and prevent prohibited items from entering the facility.
• Monitor surveillance systems and use site equipment and technology.
• Provide customer service and information as needed.
• Meet and maintain applicable state, county, and municipal security officer licensing and permit requirements.
