About The Position

United Security Inc. is hiring a part-time, per-diem Armed Security Officer for locations in Stamford, Bridgeport, and Norwalk, Connecticut. The schedule varies based on operational needs and is typically first shift, Tuesday through Saturday. The wage is $28.60 per hour. The officer monitors and patrols facilities to help maintain safety for employees, patients, and clients, responds to situations using oral de-escalation when needed, and documents incidents in daily reports. Applicants must meet the experience, education, and Connecticut licensing requirements listed below. The position reports to the Manager.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of law enforcement, corrections, or active/retired military experience; alternatively, 5 years of armed security experience is required.
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to remain alert.
• Ability to work in high-pedestrian-traffic environments.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CT Guard Card.
• CT Concealed Carry Permit with Level 1 Endorsement (CT Blue Card).

Responsibilities

• Stay alert while on duty.
• Monitor pedestrian traffic entering and leaving the facility.
• Frequently patrol the premises to maintain the safety of employees, patients, and clients.
• Use oral de-escalation when needed.
• Write daily reports of incidents.
