As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. Requirements

  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Baton certification is preferred.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or vendors at a government office location while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and applicable laws.
  • Monitor access points, verify visitor authorization as directed, and report unauthorized entry attempts or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
  • Prepare clear, accurate incident and patrol reports and maintain required documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.
