Armed Security Guard
About The Position
The Armed Security Guard secures the facility under established operating procedures and processes. This position will work NIGHTS 11PM to 7AM. The pay is $30.15 p/h, H & W is $5.25 p/h, and there is a night shift differential (11pm to 7pm) of $1.00 p/h. After 6 months, 1 week vacation is granted. This is a 40-hour position covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). We are in a Federal Enclave, and Union membership is a condition of employment ($42 per mo.). The primary function is to provide "Life Safety" response ("Active Shooter"), enforce regulations, respond to alarms and incidents, secure crime scenes, perform crowd control, conduct checks, and complete all required documentation. The role also involves access control, reporting violations, providing information to visitors, operating screening equipment, safeguarding assets, providing assistance, escorting personnel, conducting patrols, and monitoring situations through surveillance.
Requirements
- US Citizenship status required
- Must possess/obtain an active Florida State D & G license.
- Must obtain with a 9mm semi-automatic pistol.
- Must Pass a background investigation.
- Must have or be able to obtain a SECRET clearance, and be considered for a TS/SCI.
Responsibilities
- Contracted to provide "Life Safety" response ("Active Shooter")
- Enforce regulations designed to prevent security breaches
- Respond to alarms, complaints, incidents, violations and suspicious activities.
- Demonstrate the ability to take the appropriate action
- Secure/safeguard crime scenes and preserve evidence
- Perform crowd control as required
- Perform personnel, vehicular and building facility checks, First Aid and CPR as required
- Complete all required reports, forms, and other documentation per established procedures
- Staff post continuously and provide access control
- Control access to restricted areas.
- Report violations.
- Direct and provide information to visitors
- May operate x-ray machines, magnetometers, hand-held wands and screen packages
- Safeguard all assets
- Provide assistance as required
- Escort persons and equipment as needed
- Conduct foot/vehicle patrols as required
- Monitor unusual situations/conditions through personal or electronic surveillance.
- Conducts other assignments in accordance with established SOPs
