About The Position

Law Security & Investigations, Inc. is hiring an Armed Security Guard for a predominantly static post focused on access control and site security in Downtown Los Angeles. The detail is scheduled from November 23, 2026, through January 5, 2027, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or until the client closes. The posting describes the role as seasonal part-time to full-time and notes that contract end dates are not set; hired guards will be informed when that information becomes available. The work is in person, with an ability to commute to various locations in Southern California required. The guard will patrol and secure assigned premises, identify risks to staff and patrons, and safeguard people, property, materials, and confidential information. Duties include monitoring the site, inspecting doors, windows, and gates, enforcing site rules, responding to alarms and emergencies, reporting facility issues, following standard operating procedures, and documenting incidents and investigations. Requirements

BSIS Guard Card (required).
BSIS Exposed Firearms Permit (required for armed positions).
Valid driver’s license (required).
CPR certification; CPR/AED is listed in the application requirements.
Day-shift availability (required).
Ability to commute to various locations in Southern California (required).
One year of full-time uniformed security experience is preferred; armed security experience of one year is also listed as preferred.

Nice To Haves

Military, law enforcement, or National Guard experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Keep the site, materials, staff, and patrons safe.
Monitor the premises as a visual deterrent to theft, violence, and rule infractions.
Examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure they function properly and are secure.
Enforce premise rules and regulations.
Report facility issues, such as fire hazards and leaking water pipes, through the chain of command.
Request emergency personnel for high-risk situations.
Multitask, prioritize, and complete tasks in an organized, efficient, and effective manner.
Safeguard and maintain highly sensitive and confidential information.
Protect individuals and property from security and safety hazards.
Respond promptly to alarms, fire calls, and panic calls, securing the safety of people and physical property.
Strictly adhere to standard operating procedures.
Write reports.
Investigate non-routine incidents and prepare written documentation, including incident reports, pictures, and witness statements.
